Day was an integral part of the marketing team that launched Red Hat into the enterprise with Red Hat Enterprise Linux in 2001, and has continued to lead Red Hat’s premier open source event, the Red Hat Summit, since its inception in 2005.
This gathering of Red Hat customers, partners, developers, and associates enjoyed its biggest year in 2016, with more than 5,500 attendee registrations. Red Hat Summit has become a premier technology conference and continually garners corporate sponsorships from Cisco, HP, IBM, Intel, Microsoft, SAP, and more.
Day received a Bronze Stevie Award for Women in Business in 2015 as a “Mentor of the Year”.
In addition, she was named PR Executive of the Year in 2013 by the annual PR World Awards, part of the Silicon Valley United States worldwide recognition programs.
Day currently serves on the board of directors of ArtSpace, a non-profit organization supporting Raleigh, N.C.’s thriving artist community, where she is chair of the communications committee. In addition, Day regularly volunteers for Lacy Elementary School and Highland Methodist Church.
